Living alone among many is one of the common features of Urban diversity. They live side by side with others in multi-storey buildings with the vibrant metropolis just outside the window. Among all the types, we meet both singles and families with children, just as young people and the elderly live in the same building. A characteristic of Urban diversity is that a larger proportion were born in countries other than Denmark, or are descendants of immigrants.

The income is below average and the assets are quite small - however, you must remember that the value of the cooperative housing is not included here. Most types under Urban diversity belong to the middle and working class.

Just over two-thirds live for rent, just under one in five live in cooperative housing and the rest have owner-occupied homes. What they all have in common is that they are evenly distributed in smaller apartments of less than 80 m², while a third live in less than 60 m2. They are almost all found in close-by apartment buildings from before 1970, a third even from before 1940.

The largest share is under the age of 60, many are quite young, and only one in six households has children. A fifth have primary school or equivalent shorter educations to look back on, but many of the young people in Urban diversity are still in the process of furthering their education.

Just one third have a car, and it is often much more efficient to hop on the bike with the big city's short distances and high parking fees. Public transport is therefore also widely used.

The internet is used to a large extent to keep up to date with news, but also to stream a good film or series. And both young and old are active on social media.

Offline, they also like to be social. After all, they live in the big city, and may therefore come out more frequently to e.g. pop or rock concerts than the average. They are also happy to visit their friends. In addition, they practice many sports, but a run or a visit to the gym is the preferred form of exercise.

When you have to communicate with Urban diversity, you can benefit from squinting at the individual types of media consumption, as there is a big difference in where you can meet them. However, they have in common that daily newspapers and local newspapers are something they read far less often than average.

Typical of Urban diversity is, of course, that they are strongly Community-oriented, also towards the Modern-community-oriented as the Traditional-community-oriented. The favorite parties are Socialist Folkeparti, Enhedslisten and Alternativet, which are quite overrepresented in this group. The Social Democrats also garner many votes, while the blue parties only rarely get a vote.
